Witnessing Humanity

“One day this week a number of encounters occurred: chatting with two patients in the hospital’s psych ward – a friend in crisis needed to be taken there; calling 911 for a person who had difficulty walking with his heavy bag – he told me he had had too much to drink; exchanging smiles with a Tent City person who appreciated the two dollar coin dropped in her paper cup. Such a view of life might seem hopeless yet these brief, intense happenings all had the stuff of richness to them. When you allow yourself to be open to humanity in all its frailty, you become super- human in the power of that connectivity.”

To your Happiness,
