Tears in your Costume?
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts.” When I first read this famous line of Shakespeare’s, I likened it purely to the playwright’s world of theatre and stage. For a number of years, it served as a literal interpretation confined to the limitations of a high school English course. Only after life experiences and deliberate exposure to life’s greater meaning, did I realize the bard had penned a profound metaphor. Indeed, we are actors in this life, spiritual beings taking on necessary form to live on this planet as per our soul’s request. Costumed in a body that you first grow into, and then disrobe as you “find” yourself: it may be that in the course of dismantling your garment, the pulling and tugging will tear it here and there. No matter. The tears are meant to be as you play out your roles. A worn-out costume signals the end of a theatre run, and the promise of exquisite soul-full rest.”
To your Happiness,
