Turn on the Light
“Turn on the light as you get up. Open your blinds – your curtains – to see what the day looks like. Is there plenty of sunshine yet? Or maybe it’s cloudy and you hope it’ll clear up soon so that you can be in the light. Outside you seek the sunny side of the street where the warmth has already dispelled the morning’s coolness. At the coffee shop, you put your computer on the table where the lighting is good. Turning it on, you see the screen light up – the connection works just fine. Your name is called and claiming your brew, you smile back at the barista, who’s lighting up the day for all entering this cheery place. Settling in, you stare out the window: the sun has shown its full face – beaming in its beautiful, powerful, brilliant light rays. It’s turned its light on. It’s time to turn on yours.”
