Finding Constancy
“In the process of moving, change is in charge. Some big furniture items had been donated to charity, including the double bed, which has necessitated a portable replacement over the course of the move. Luckily, an air bed was available. Blowing it up was a charm – plugged it in and within five or so minutes it was like the real McCoy. Slept well but noticed by morning that its firmness was not as robust. Went to sit on said bed in the afternoon and keeled over… the air bed had morphed into a waterbed. Balance was crucial in achieving desired positions whether horizontal or vertical. Fingers crossed that enough air remains that it feels like sleeping on a billowy mattress rather than a flat pancake. Adapting and finding constancy in inconstancy is tricky, but I have to say in this case it’s fun.”
