Limitations
“” You can’t go outside looking like that!” Perhaps you remember hearing something similar as a child. There were other things that weren’t allowed. Coloring outside the lines because you wanted your blue to extend to the end of the page; talking when you had so much to say; running instead of walking in line because it was a beautiful day; others puzzled that you were crying upon hearing the President had died; realizing your truth couldn’t challenge the lies of an adult in charge. Until of course, you grew into your sovereignty and did away with all the “can’ts” that had limited you with artificial rules. Rules that had nothing to do with protection and everything to do with power. Power over you…”
