How You Discern
“How do you figure out what’s going on? Retreat into silence? Ask a lot of questions? Review every news feed? Get others’ opinions? Listen to CNN? Probably all come into play at one point or another. Distilling what’s going on and arriving at what is true for you is predicated on three elements: information, wisdom, and intuition. You synthesize information from external sources; you gain wisdom through personal experience, and you cultivate inner knowing by listening to your intuition. The challenge is to balance all three without having one or the other dominate your discernment. The tendency to allow information to be the master here is no surprise. It speaks loudly, muffling the voice of experience and your still, small voice, too. Be vigilant in making room for the latter two for they bear a great deal of the truth you are seeking.”
To your Happiness,
