Humpty Dumpty had a Great Fall…
“”Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the King’s horses and all the King’s men couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty together again.” This popped into my head as I sat down to write. It’s not a rhyme that I particularly liked as a child or repeated often but its image conveys two important thoughts for today: there is a loss and an end to things, and second, herculean efforts will not bring them back no matter how enduring or familiar these things might have been to you. The act of moving forward – going beyond the egg can be just as painful as experiencing the loss of “Humpty” in the first place. Be as compassionate with yourself as you can so you can be compassionate with others.”
To your Happiness,
