Build a Door
“Googling sometimes takes you down a rabbit hole. For whatever reason, I happened upon a quote by Milton Berle, an American comedian, who said, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” It has stuck with me since reading it, and I think I know why. Our present circumstances are unfolding toward a future that will usher in new ways and different means to navigate these ways. Opportunities as you know them have already not only changed but disappeared altogether. What is interesting here, is to identify opportunities that you don’t know yet. Hence the need for you to build a door where fresh, new opportunities can make their entrance. Once aware of them, you will hear their knock loud and clear. Now where’s that hammer…?”
